Once you get to the front just attach the straps to the front rail and you can drive with it in that position. This gives you partial access to the bed of the truck but if you need full bed access just pull the cable left side of the folded tonneau and lift up at a light angle and the whole cover pulls right out of the rails and it reinstalls just as easily. The cover initially installs with 4 clamps on each side so there is no drilling on the bed of the truck and as you close the cover the tabs on the cover lock into the tabs on the rails to secure each panel and when you pull the final panel down it automatically latches into place.
